Cassey grew up on a farm near Manning, Alberta. She has always had a passion for music and sports. It was her figure skating talents that lead her to compete in Canada, but it is her musical gifts that took her outside Canada to pursue a musical career in Nashville, Tennessee.
Cassey's competitive background, her musical talents, and her age are just three reasons why she was asked to write and perform the theme song for the 2010 Alberta Summer Games.
Each song on Cassey's new EP titled "Catch The Moon" was written, or co-written by Cassey, and was recorded in Nashville May 2011.
Cassey has opened shows for acts that include fellow Canadian Country Music artists Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Emerson Drive. Cassey was selected to perform on the Canadian Country Music Association's New Artist Showcase Stage (one of eight selected from thousands of entries), and she has performed at numerous fairs, festivals and events including Canada's popular Big Valley Jamboree.
